University of Pharmacy, Yangon
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what University of Pharmacy, Yangon collects through its library mobile app and online catalogue (OPAC), what it is used for, and how long it is kept.
Last updated: 11 September 2026
What we collect
Only what the library service needs. Nothing for advertising.
- Account â your name, email address and university account identifier. The app never sees your password: signing in happens on the university's own sign-in page, in your phone's browser.
- Library record â your membership card number, current loans, reservations, fines and saved lists.
- Device â a push token so we can send you notifications, and your device model, OS version and app version for diagnosing faults.
- Camera â used only to read a barcode. No image is stored or transmitted.
What we use it for
- Lending, reserving and managing your library account.
- Telling you when a book is due back or a reservation is ready to collect.
- Watermarking each e-book page with your card number, which our agreements with publishers require so that redistribution can be traced.
- Diagnosing faults in the service.
Who we share it with
Your library data stays with University of Pharmacy, Yangon. We do not sell it and we do not pass it to advertisers.
The one exception is push notifications, which must travel through Apple's and Google's notification services. What we send them is minimal and contains nothing that identifies you or what you are reading.
What stays on your phone
- Sign-in tokens, held in the device's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android).
- A small cache of your card and lists, so they open without a signal.
- Your biometric unlock preference â the biometric itself never leaves the device and never reaches us.
- Signing out or deleting the app removes all of it.
How long we keep it
Loan records are kept for as long as library regulations require. When your membership ends, account data is removed in line with the university's records retention policy.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, and ask for your account to be closed.
